"If you are currently in the market for a new home and know you will be obtaining FHA financing on or after April 1, 2013 the annual mortgage insurance premium will increase to 135 bps for all loans with less than 10% down. What this means to you is an increase in monthly payment of approximately $20/month on a purchase price of $250,000 with 3.5% down. More importantly on all case numbers issued on or after June 1, 2013 if your down payment is less than 10% down you will have to pay mortgage insurance for the life of the loan - currently mortgage insurance drops once your loan to value reaches 78% loan to value and a minimum of five years of payment." "One of our great builders recently went on a trip to Haiti to build homes for families devastated by the earthquake. This was his second year down there with his church group, who was able to raise enough funds to build four new homes. When our company's owner found out he also wanted to contribute and due to his generosity the group was able to employ more of the local workers and give more to the community. Patrick B., our beloved builder, had such a great experience and was in awe of how happy and positive the locals were despite their circumstances. He does plan on going back again next year.
